Whenever someone mentions wealth, the thought of money normally crosses the mind. How then does money fit into the big picture of wealth?
You need to understand that to be wealthy in monetary terms goes beyond just having lots of money. It means being completely financially stable and not having to work vigorously for a decent meal or paycheque to survive.
It also means being in complete control of your money and not allowing your money to control you. But before you can control your money and wealth, it is wise to first be clear about the idea behind money.
What is money then? In the simplest explanation, money is actually something you use as a form of payment – be it in paper, coins, plastic cards, cheques, bank transfers, et cetera – in exchange for a product or service you require.
It is an updated version of the barter trade that was used ages ago. The major difference is that barter trade involves the exchange of goods, which are perceived to be of similar value without the use of any form of payment.
Money is actually a simple tool but has been complicated by today’s economics. Its value varies in different countries according to the amount, currency and assets it is weighed against.
While I am open to the idea of having a lot of money, it is equally prudent that I stress that wealth is not just about having a lot of money.
Wealth encompasses many great dimensions such as knowledge, creativity, relationships, love, wisdom, courage and all the good intangible values.
The worth of a person, although human beings are intrinsically beyond valuation, should not only be defined by one’s material wealth, monetary value, possessions or other physical factors.
The original draft of the American Declaration of Independence has the phrase, “… and the pursuit of Property” stated as one of those inalienable rights of Man. I am in agreement with the change to its current version, “… and the pursuit of Happiness”, whatever its reason.
A person’s wealth should be defined by one’s intangible, intellectual or aesthetic achievements, one’s use of the freely and abundantly available resources to fashion something better, one’s discoveries of new conceptual or real vistas, one’s selfless service rendered to a fellow human or to life or to a good ideal.
But the greatest wealth any human being can possess is the wealth of freedom.
Not just any kind of freedom but the kind where any child, woman and man are freed in the truest sense of the word ‘free’ from every unnecessary or undesirable chain, prison or shackle imaginable.
The truly free shall never have to work on something they hate just to put food on the table, but are free to pursue whatever gives them the healthiest, fullest pleasure and passion.
In the same way that we now breathe freely of the abundant air around us, so too shall every free individual have the basic need of human life - healthy food and water, clean air, decent shelter, protection from preventable (and what seems to now be unpreventable) diseases, holistic education, et cetera - be available in abundance to them.
Only when you are able to grasp this fundamental essence of wealth will you be able to command it.

No human is an island. We are born to be social animals, even if we hate to admit it. The tide of changes that are coming in this age demands nothing less than interdependence between not only individuals and societies, but nations and civilizations as well.
Today we celebrate our Interdependence Day! Here are 9 pointers to assist you in improving what is probably the most important aspect of your life – your social intelligence:
1) In a team or partnership setting, if you are the one in the leading position or the initiator of the partnership, think about how you can help other members in the team or the other partner MORE than how you can benefit yourself – this will cause the other team members or partners to reciprocate and even contribute more to the overall benefit of the team or partnership.
2) Break free from your ego. Put your unique concerns aside for a while and be genuinely concerned about those of other people.
3) Here’s a tip to scale the ladder towards excellence in your life, business or career. Ask yourself this question: How can I benefit people in a way that nobody else can so as to permanently imprint my position as the sole go-to authority in my field?
4) Knowing and understanding what other people are thinking and going through in their own unique situations and circumstances by putting yourself in their shoes could be one of the most useful habits you can acquire in becoming a better, more beloved person.
5) “Ask not what your team can do for you, but what you can do for your team” should be the personal motto of every individual in your team. Of course, this is just the ideal situation. However, you can lead by example by personally living this motto yourself and probably inspiring other team members to do the same.
6) Every opinion put forward by the team members should be appreciated and tactfully handled. If the quality of the ideas being put forward is not up to par, then it is the responsibility of the leader to set the standard by clearly and sufficiently defining the problem or purpose in the first place.
7) Find a workable solution that takes into consideration everybody’s contributions. However, don’t let this prevent from a workable and more immediate solution if none exists that can embrace everybody’s contributions.
8) Everybody has a unique task, a specialization or individual strength. Sometimes one member’s strength can only be seen when complemented with another. Make them partners. Tap on the complementing or even the opposing relationships between every individual’s strengths and abilities into a cohesive whole that produces the greatest processes and the greatest results.
9) Understand how individuals and mobs think. Everybody is acting upon self-interest no matter how seemingly noble or altruistic any person or action is. Know this, but without seeming too much like a cynic, tap on this truth with as much gain for yourself and everyone else as possible.
So there you have it, 9 simple ways to unleash your social animal within. Always remember that when you improve your social relationship, you will definitely be on course to attracting and achieving greater levels of success for yourself.

There is only one thing that stands between you and the great achievers of the world, and that is the conscious use of the Law of Attraction. I say conscious because whether you are aware of it or not, the law is working in your life. The Law of Attraction is manifesting into your life what you are thinking about, the universe is responding to the vibrations that you are sending out on a continual basis. Harness that power, and make it work with you, for you not against you.
In order to use the Law of Attraction you have to become self aware, self confident, gracious and faithful to what it is you are after. Great achievers are where they are because they knew that they could do it, despite the obstacles that were in front of them. That belief in they themselves and what they wanted moved the universe to manifest to them their desires. If you are worried that you can not be successful because you are filled with self doubt, low self esteem, the law of attraction can help you overcome those obstacles so that you are able to manifest prosperity and success in your life.
Great achievers have an unwavering belief in themselves. You need to have that same belief in yourself. Look in the mirror, take a good hard look at yourself, see who you really are. You don’t have to be overjoyed with what you see, you don’t even need to be happy with it right now, but you need to accept it. Accept that right now at this moment you are this person. Good, bad or indifferent… once you know who you are and accept who you are, you can change who you are.
Sit down and make a list of all the things about you that are positive, what are the good things that make you who you are. I don’t want you to think about what you don’t like, focus only on the positives. If you can’t come up with a list on your own, talk to friends and families and ask them what they like about you. This is not a replacement for you finding the things you like, they are more suggestions for you to consider. Think of it like rearranging furniture in your living room. While you may not like the way it looks as a whole, there are a couple pieces that you like here and there… maybe new paint on the walls.
Okay, now the paint on the walls. Painting the walls in the room does not take away from the pieces you like, it enhances them. So now we are going to take the list you have, the pieces that you like, and enhance them. What can you do that will make you feel better about yourself, what will increase your self confidence? Start small, the size of the achievement doesn’t matter, just that you achieved it. If washing the windows is a task that you have been wanting to do, do it… when you are done there is going to be a feeling of satisfaction, accomplishment… feel that, hold on to it.
Perhaps what you want to do is write a poem, you want to create a piece of artwork. So sit down and start. If it doesn’t turn out, do not let that failure discourage you… it is not a failure… it is an opportunity for you to learn something and thereby grow. See, you need to change the way you are looking at things. Perception is more half the battle. If you can take each thing that you go through in life and see the opportunity to grow, the positive in the situation you are sending a powerful vibration out to the universe… the universe then looks for ways to provide you with more things that have a similar vibration. Galileo and Einstein did not quit when they failed, Shakespeare did not give up writing every time he didn’t like what he had created… therefore neither should you.
Believe that you can accomplish anything. Don’t just think it once or twice, think it twenty times a day, write it out on pieces of paper and tape them to the walls, carry one in your pocket and every time you start to doubt yourself get out the piece of paper and read it to yourself… remember how you felt when you accomplished washing the windows.
You can also focus on the way you felt when you had the chance to grow and learn from something not turning out quite the way you wanted. So the poem was not a hit… but what did you do with that? You ended up writing a short story, you learned that you can write a poem… it made you spend time with yourself thinking about what is important to you and you tried again.
Great achievers do not give up. They take each failure and each success to heart, they hold on those feelings and they know, they know they can achieve. That failure led to the E=MC2, the creation of the light bulb, the Mona Lisa, Romeo and Juliet. Don’t stop, believe that you are successful and that you can achieve.
Stop right now and picture in your head what it is you think being a great achiever means. What is that to you? Now see yourself as that Great Achiever. See everything about that situation surrounding you, whether that means awards, accolades and applause… or just a pat on the back from someone that means a lot to you telling you that you did a good job. You define what accomplishment means to you, you and no one else.
So what is standing between you and achieving your dreams? The answer is very simple: you. The law of attraction manifests in our lives what it is we think we are, and what we think we deserve… so start thinking that you can achieve anything and you will.
